Stats & combat
Understand what STR, AGL, SPD and HP do in a fight.
STR: stronger hits
Strength increases the damage of your direct attacks. Weapons and damaging skills can build on that strength, while the opponent’s AGL reduces the damage they take. More STR helps you hit harder; it does not make you attack more often.
AGL: defense and reactions
Agility reduces the damage you take from direct hits. It also influences your chances of dodging, counterattacking, striking first in response to an attack, or blocking part of a hit. These reactions depend on your AGL compared with the attacker’s AGL, not just your own stat.
Higher AGL improves those chances within limits; it never guarantees a dodge. The attack type, pets, skills and status effects can restrict which reactions are available. More AGL does not make your normal turns arrive faster.
SPD: more frequent turns
Speed shortens the wait between your actions. A faster fighter can act more often than a slower opponent, so fights do not always alternate one attack each. Timing varies, and skills or status effects can change what happens on a turn.
SPD does not directly increase dodge chance or the damage of an individual hit. Its advantage is getting more opportunities to act.
HP: staying in the fight
Health is the amount of damage you can take before being knocked out. More maximum HP gives you a larger health pool, but it is not armor and does not reduce incoming damage.
Direct-hit damage also takes both fighters’ maximum HP and levels into account. That means more HP does not translate directly into the same increase in hits survived. Healing and some special effects have their own rules.
How the stats work together
Think of STR as harder hits, AGL as protection and defensive reactions, SPD as more frequent actions, and HP as your health reserve. For example, a fast fighter may attack more often but still struggle against high AGL; a strong fighter may hit hard but get fewer turns.
Your opponent, weapons, equipment, skills, pets and temporary effects all matter. No single stat guarantees a win, and a dodge or critical hit in one replay does not mean it will happen in every fight.
