Enhancements & pity

Failed enhancements count toward a guaranteed success.

Enhance an equipment slot

  1. Open your Bag, select an equipped item, then select the + button beside its enhancement stars.
  2. Supply the matching gem. Add Diamonds only if you want to boost this attempt.
  3. Review the cost and confirm. A successful enhancement adds 2% to the slot bonus, up to +40%.

How enhancement pity works

All eight equipment and weapon slots share one failure counter for your character. A failed helmet enhancement can help your next pendant enhancement.

Every failed enhancement adds one to the counter. Any successful enhancement resets it to zero, even if it succeeds before pity is ready. Changing items or reopening the game does not reset it.

The guarantee depends on the current bonus of the slot you choose next. Match that bonus to the table below. Count only failures since your last successful enhancement.

Current slot bonusBase success chanceFailures before guarantee
+0–2%100%Guaranteed immediately
+4–6%90%2 failed attempts
+8–10%80%2 failed attempts
+12–14%70%2 failed attempts
+16–18%60%2 failed attempts
+20–22%50%3 failed attempts
+24–26%40%3 failed attempts
+28–30%30%4 failed attempts
+32–34%20%6 failed attempts
+36–38%10%12 failed attempts

Once you have enough failures for that row, the next attempt on that slot is guaranteed. At +40%, the slot is fully enhanced.

The dialog shows the normal chance, including any Diamond boost. Pity can still guarantee the attempt even when the displayed chance is below 100%.

A simple example

Your helmet enhancement fails three times in a row. Your pendant slot is at +20%, with a 50% base chance. Its next enhancement is guaranteed: use one HP Gem and zero Diamonds to reach +22%. That success resets the shared counter.

Gems and Diamonds

Each attempt uses one matching gem and any Diamonds you selected, whether it succeeds or fails. A failure does not lower the slot bonus.

Each Diamond adds 5 percentage points to the normal chance for that attempt, up to 100%. Diamonds do not reduce the number of failures needed for pity. No Diamonds are needed when pity already guarantees success.

If an attempt cannot start because materials or Diamonds are missing, or the slot is already maxed, it does not add a failure or spend materials.
